About

Mariko Soto, DVM

Dr. Soto was born in Berkeley, and she’s still here. She is an alumna of Mills College and the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received her veterinary degree in 2003. She has worked at mixed-species vet hospitals around the Bay Area, but she has found that feline medicine is her true calling. She has always treated her own cats at home when possible, and she enjoys making the same lower-stress experience available to the cats of Berkeley. She shares her home with a charming rescue cat named Jacket Potato, a small flock of delightful chickens, and a couple of marvelous humans.

Joe Quintero, Veterinary Assistant

Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Joe moved to the Bay Area with his mother and younger brother in 1992.

Having attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, he worked as a freelance graphic artist until 2013, when he found his true vocation working at PETS Referral Center in Berkeley. He then moved on to manage the front desk at an all-cat clinic in San Francisco.

Joe is studying to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.  He is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and cat friendly veterinary advocate.

He lives in Berkeley with his three cats Tess, Maggie, and Fey.
